Prepare to Officiate.
The Pickleball Referee Excellence Program (PREP) helps aspiring and developing referees build the knowledge, practical skills, judgment, and confidence needed to officiate well. Through structured learning, purposeful practice, focused feedback, and experienced referee guidance, PREP makes meaningful referee development possible — wherever you live.
Why PREP
What We Do
Expert referee development — wherever you live.
Becoming a skilled referee shouldn't depend on having an experienced trainer nearby. PREP combines expert coaching, guided online learning, purposeful practice, video feedback, and strategically timed on-court training to help aspiring referees develop from wherever they are.
Much of your development can happen where you live, supported by your PREP trainer and our learning platform. In-person training is used when being together on the court adds the greatest value.
PREP is an independent referee-development program. We help referees build the knowledge, practical skills, judgment, and consistency needed to officiate competently — and to pursue the appropriate credential, including the proposed PREP Referee Credential.
